Meet Contributing Artist: Sarah Bishop Posted May 3, 2014 by Stevie Dunham


Sarah Bishop started her dance training at the age of four in Michigan and then in Pennsylvania. In 2001, she moved to Bangor and began dancing at Thomas School of Dance and with Bangor Ballet, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance. Upon entering high school, Sarah expanded her dance horizons and supplemented her training through dancing with Robinson Ballet. Sarah has also trained at Goucher Summer Arts Festival, Bossov Ballet, The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She has danced in many roles in Robinson Ballet’s “LIVE” productions and “The Nutcracker,” most recently as the Chinese soloist in the “Tea from China” divertissement. Sarah is currently a junior at the University of Maine, majoring in English with minors in Dance and Psychology. She is also the Academics Chairman of the Delta Zeta sorority, serving on the executive board. In addition to her academic studies, Sarah is active in the University dance community, and participates in Tap Club and Ballet Club. She is also a soloist with Bangor Ballet and a Contributing Artist with Robinson Ballet
